In general, the construction of the EFI system can be divided into three parts / systems, namely;
a) fuel system (fuel system),b) an electronic control system (electronic control system), andc) induction system / intake air (air induction system).
These three major systems will be discussed individually below. The number of components contained in the EFI system can be different on each type of bike engines. The more complete the system components used EFI, the EFI system will certainly work better so that it can produce a better performance engine is also optimal. With the complete EFI system components (eg sensors), then setting the necessary correction to adjust the ratio of fuel and air in accordance with the engine working conditions will be more perfect.
Sort sorts the EFI system:
a. Fuel system components which are used to deliver fuel to the engine comprising a fuel tank (fuel pump), fuel pump (fuel pump), fuel filter (fuel filters), pipe / hose distributor (splitter), the pressure regulator fuel (fuel pressure regulator), and injector / fuel spray. Fuel system serves to store, clean, distribute and spraying / injecting fuel.
The function of each component in the fuel system is as follows:
1) Fuel suction filter

filter out the dirt so as not to fuel pump sucked.
2) Fuel pump module

pump and drain the fuel from the fuel tank to the injector. Distribution should be more fuel than the engine needs to be pressure in the fuel system can be maintained at all times while changing engine conditions ¬ change.
3) Fuel pressure regulator; regulate the fuel pressure in the fuel flow system to keep / constant. For example the Honda Supra X 125 PGM-FI pressure was maintained at 294 kPa (3.0 kgf/cm2, 43 psi). When fuel is pumped to the injector too big (the fuel pressure exceeds 294 kPa (3.0 kgf/cm2, 43 psi)) returns the fuel pressure regulator into the tank.
4) Fuel feed hose

hose to drain the fuel from the tank to the injector. Pressure-resistant hose designed to be pumped from the fuel with a minimum pressure of the pressure generated by the pump.
5) Fuel Injector

inject fuel into the inlet (intake manifold) before, usually before the intake valve, but some are to the throttle body. Volume is adjusted by the opening of the spray nozzle / injector. Old and regulated by the spraying number of ECM (Electronic / Engine Control Module) or ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
The occurrence of the injector is spraying at ECU supplies power to the injector solenoid coil. By giving the solenoid coil voltage will become a magnet so as to attract the plunger and the raised needle valve (needle valve) of the holder, so that the fuel lines that are pressurized will radiate out from the injector.
b. Electronic Control SystemsComponents of the electronic control system consists of several sensors (sensors), such as MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor, TP (Throttle Position) sensor, IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor, bank angle sensor, EOT (Engine Oil Temperature) sensor, and sensor -other sensors. In this system there is also a ECU (Electronic Control Unit) or ¬ ECM components and additional components such as the alternator (magnets) and the regulator / rectifier that supplies and regulates the voltage to the ECU, battery and other components. In this system there is also a DLC (Data Link Connector) is a kind of socket is connected to the engine analyzer to look for sources of component failure
Broadly speaking, the function of each component of the electronic control system are as follows;
1) ECU / ECM

receive and count all the information / data received from each sensor signal is in the machine. The information obtained from sensors which include information on air temperature, engine oil temperature, coolant water temperature, pressure or the amount of air intake, throttle valve position / gas valve, engine speed, crankshaft position, and other information. In general, the sensor works at a voltage between 0 volts to 5 volts. Furthermore ECU / ECM uses information that has been processed to calculate and determine when (timing) and duration of injector work / spray fuel by sending power to the solenoid injector. On some machines that have been more perfect, in addition to control the injectors, ECU / ECM can also control the ignition system.
2) MAP (Manifold absolute pressure) sensor

give signals to the ECU in the form of information (detection) of air pressure into the intake manifold. In addition to MAP sensor type, the detection of air entering the intake manifold can be in the form of number and weight of the air. If the amount of air is detected, the sensor is called the water flow meter, whereas if the weight of air is detected, the sensor is called the water mass sensor.
3) IAT (Engine water temperature) sensor; give a signal to the ECU in the form of information (detection) of the temperature of air entering the intake manifold. Voltage reference / supply 5 Volt from ECU will then be transformed into a voltage signal whose value is affected by inlet air temperature.
4) TP (Throttle Position) sensor

give signals to the ECU in the form of information (detection) of the position of the throttle valve / gas valve. The newer generation of this sensor does not only consist of contacts that detect the position of idel / throttle and full load position, but it is a potentiometer (variable resistor) and can provide a signal to the ECU on any engine load condition. Construction of the last generation of the gas valve position sensor is an electronic full, because that drives the gas valve is controlled by the ECU elektromesin wirelessly connected gas with the gas pedal. The latest generation allows controlling emissions / exhaust gas is cleaner because of the accelerator pedal is actuated only provide a voltage signal to the ECU and the opening and closing the gas valve is also done electronically by the ECU.
5) Engine oil temperature sensor

give signals to the ECU in the form of information (detection) of the engine oil temperature. 6) Bank angle sensor; an angle sensor. On motorcycles that use EFI systems are usually equipped with a bank angle sensor that aims to safety when a vehicle fell off the slope of 550
Picture Bank Angle Sensor and Angle Tilt Position Motorcycles
Signals or information sent bank angle sensor to the ECU when the motorcycle fell by a predetermined angle to make ECU will give the command to turn off (OFF-to-right) injectors, ignition coils and fuel pumps. Thus the chance of burning of a motorcycle if any fuel is spilled or spilled will be small due to the ignition system and fuel system was stopped while the ignition is in ON position.Bank angle sensor will detect any tilt angle of the motorcycle. If the angle is still below the specified limit, then the information sent to the ECU not to make the ECU OFF to the three components above. What about the angle of the motorcycle is cornering / turn? If the motorcycle is running on a curved position (although the slope exceeds 550), ECU ¬ OFF to not do all three components. On the curve there is a style that makes centripugal angle of the pendulum in the bank angle sensor is not the same as the slope of the motorcycle.Thus, although the tilt angle of the motorcycle has reached 550, but in reality the signal is sent to the ECU still indicates that the angle of slope is still below 550 so that the ECU is OFF to the three components. In addition to the above sensors there are other sensors used on the EFI system, such as the camshaft position sensor / nok shaft, (camshaft position sensor) to detect the peak position of the shaft so that when the ignition can be known, the crankshaft position sensor (crankshaft position sensor) to detect rotation of the crankshaft, sensor cooling water (water temperature sensor) for detecting the engine cooling water and other sensors. However, on a motorcycle EFI systems that are simple, not all the sensors installed.
c. Air Induction System
Components are included in this system include: air cleaner / air box (air filter), intake manifold and throttle body (where the gas valve). This system serves to distribute a number of air needed for combustion.
